As a regular inspection every 20,000km
I would like to replace the plug.
As the plug deteriorates, it becomes difficult to get a spark and the engine will stop running.
It’s not that expensive, so replace it regularly.
Plug purchase
This is the plug model number for the Super Cub JA07,
but it seems to be attached not only to the JA07 but also to other Cubs.

Remove parts around the plug
The plug is attached here.
If you look from the front of the car,
you can see the plug cord (red circle ↑ in the image above) inside the white leg cover on the right side of the car.
・remove plug cap
There is a plug cap at the end of the plug cord, so pull it out with your fingers.
It can be easily removed by pulling it hard.
The plug (the white one) came into view.
unplug
・Remove it using a ratchet wrench fitted with a 16mm plug socket.
You can also remove it using the socket and screwdriver that are available on the motorcycle in this way.
If the tool interferes with the leg cover (the white cowl at your feet), remove the leg cover before proceeding with the work.
Comparison with new product
It came off.
Left: Used (40,000 km)
Right: New
I forgot to change it at 20,000km, so it’s quite dirty.
If it is dirty, it will be difficult for sparks to fly in the engine, so it is better to replace it before this happens.
New installation
Now let’s assemble the new one.

This is the direction to insert it.
By the way, the mechanism is
・Electricity flows from the left side of the plug.
・A spark occurs in the slightly open area at the tip of the right side of the plug (the part where the key claw and protrusion are).
・The vaporized gasoline in the engine catches fire.
・An explosion occurred
・Piston moves up and down
This is repeated an incredible number of times per second, which is amazing.
・plug in
First, rotate it with your fingers until it turns.
If you suddenly turn it with a tool, you may end up forcibly screwing it in while it is stuck diagonally.
First, insert it by hand.
If it stops turning when tightened by hand
Use a tool to turn it 1/6 turn.
